COMING SOON

Every first Friday of the month at 9.30am. Members of the congregation act as Grannies and engage with the toddlers via art and crafts or just playing with the toys.  Refreshments are served and the sessions ends with a short service of prayers, rhymes, a story and a blessing at the altar.

Bell ringing practice every Wednesday 7.30pm.  Come and learn.

to ring the bells for free.  Excellent tuition given.

Wow—what a wonderful weekend this was last year.  Lots of visitors including Dr James Rosenthal—Director for Communications of the Anglican Communion and president of the St Nicholas Society.  We have the largest St Nicholas he has ever seen apparently!

Every first Wednesday of the month at 1.30pm the reception class of St Nicholas School come to church and enjoy all that the community praise and play offers.

A Eucharist is celebrated at two residential homes in the community.

Brandwood at 10.45am and Ashlands at 2.00pm.on the first Monday of the month. Members of the congregation come and support this by helping with the service and sharing community news and stories with the residents.

Junior Choir sing every first Sunday at the All Age Service.

Choir practice / singing lessons free of charge virtually every week.

Prayer Group every 2nd Thursday of the Month 8.00pm.

Quiet prayer and reflection ending in Compline.  A good way to end the day.  ‘Be still and know that I am God.’

Installation of the Boy Bishop 7th December 2008

The revival of another old tradition for which the church still has the original vestments.  This will take place on St Nicholas Day during the Eucharist.  The May Queen will be in attendance to help install the Boy Bishop. 

Music season HAS STARTED—Next CONCERT JULY 5TH

Two of last seasons groups: Grange Brass and A Cappella Singers. 

 

LAST CONCERT: Lancashire Schools Jazz Orchestra—THE big sound.  was well worth coming to see and to listen to.

Monday Club 2008—every second Monday 2.00-4.00ish pm

THE MONDAY CLUB is proving to be very successful. This is a Community Group and everyone is welcome.  There is a book exchange and an entertainment programme prepared as well as time to chat and make friends and have a brew!.  See Calendar for future dates.

Installation of May Queen— May 11th 2008

This ancient ceremony will once again install our new May Queen ably assisted by Miss Evie Waller, the outgoing Queen, during the Eucharist at 10.30am.
